Avior Ski Lodge Information UPDATED 26 Mar 2019

FRONT DOOR CODE CHANGED LATE IN 2016. FOR NEW CODE SEE YOUR BOOKING RECEIPT

  1. Getting there: Address is 17 Bobuck Lane, Thredbo. When approaching Thredbo, it’s easier not to take the exit to Friday Flat – instead keep going another kilometre or so and turn right into Banjo Drive then follow the road to the right onto Bobuck Lane. Avior is the last lodge on the right before you descend rapidly down a hairpin turn but, if you miss it, it’s easy enough just to keep doing the big circuit of the village and try again!
  2. Parking: Park end-to-end in the driveway. In winter, the lodge is normally full, so try and leave no more than 30cm between car bumpers.
  3. Manager: You will notice there is no manager on site; the owners keep costs down by entrusting guests to leave the ski lodge in the condition they found it on arrival.
  4. Access: The door code you’ve received will open the front door. All beds are on the top floor. The rooms are basic (single beds) but heated and have some great views.
  5. Room allocation: Your booking confirmation email will have your room number on it—use your allocated room. This website also has a bookings calendar with allocated names against allocated rooms. Any confusion call the Bookings Manager on 0428 771 994 or the Lodge Chairman on 0437 942 930
  6. BYO Linen: You will need to bring pillow cases, doona covers, sheets, and towels. There are single doona’s and pillows in every room. However, as this is a private ski lodge (and not serviced) there is only limited linen provided (see point below). Some guests choose to bring sleeping bags, however you will still need a bottom sheet and pillow case.
  7. Avior linen: Avior has some doona covers and pillow cases stored in the lodge, however these should not be relied on. If you do use them, you must wash and dry them prior to departure. There is a washing machine and dryer downstairs.
  8. Facilities: There is a ski-storage area, drying room, laundry, wood room, spa (winter months only) and outdoor BBQ.
  9. Kitchen: Every room has a pantry assigned in the kitchen area. The doors are numbered according to the room you’re staying in.
  10. Cleaning: the cleaning and day-to-day care of the lodge is an ongoing obligation for members and their guests. This responsibility must be accepted as part and parcel of the low room fees. In winter, cleaners come in twice a week to clean the common areas only; however this should be viewed as supplementary to you having primary responsibility for the condition of the lodge.
  11. Groceries: There is a general store/supermarket at Thredbo village but, as you can imagine, it is quite expensive. A better idea might be to do a shop at Jindabyne on the way through  and save yourself a couple of dollars. If you’re into Schnapps, we highly recommend dropping in to Wild Brumby Distillery on the way past! (Located just a few kilometres before the entrance to National Park)
  12. Fridges: There are two small bar fridges, freezer, and one large commercial fridge in the kitchen. Please use them as you see fit.
  13. Crockery, Cutlery, Pots and Pans: All yours for use. We just ask you clean up after yourself.
  14. Departure time has recently changed from 10am to 11am: The next guests arriving expect the lodge to be clean, their room available, and your car out of the driveway by 11am; like all of us, they deserve a quiet, clean, and smooth start to their well-earned ski holiday.

Most importantly! Please have a great time!!! It is a lovely part of Australia and the share accommodation facilitates an enjoyable social atmosphere; the owners enjoy sharing it with you.

Avior Committee
Avior has a small committee that operates on a voluntary basis. We don’t anticipate you will have any problems; however, if you have any feedback/concerns please address them to the committee’s Chairman at aviorskilodge@gmail.com or, in an emergency, at 0437 942 930.
